Plot Overview: Two Perspectives, One Incident
The story begins when Rashad Butler, a Black ROTC student, is brutally beaten by a police officer after being wrongly accused of shoplifting and assaulting a white woman at a corner store. Quinn Collins, a white classmate who considers the officer a father figure, witnesses the assault from outside the shop. As the incident goes viral, the town of Springfield becomes a flashpoint for tension. While Rashad recovers in the hospital and deals with the physical and emotional trauma, Quinn must decide whether to stay silent to protect his community or speak up for what is right.
