What Happens in Act Two
Act Two opens with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern still unsure why they are at court or what they are meant to do. They try to make sense of events by asking questions, but answers remain incomplete or misleading. The Player and the Tragedians return, reinforcing the idea that life resembles a scripted performance. As Hamlet’s story advances offstage, the two courtiers are increasingly swept along without control.
