Plot Overview and Structure
The tragedy begins with Prince Hamlet returning to Denmark following the sudden death of his father. After witnessing a ghostly apparition of the late king, Hamlet learns he was murdered by his uncle, Claudius, who has now taken the throne and married Hamlet’s mother.
